Hard to believe that it is almost November, especially considering that the thermometer here in good old Chambana still hovers somewhere around the surface temperature of the sun.
But soon it will be the holiday season. And we all know how much I love the holidays.
To help me get through it – to help me keep blogging through it, even though I will be sorely tempted to tear my own face off – I anted up and joined this year’s NaBloPoMo effort.
Those of you not familiar with the fabulousness that is Eden Marriott Kennedy need to rush over here and meet her.
I credit Eden with my current freelance writing career.
Because last year, I took her challenge to post daily during the month of November, and I haven’t looked back since. My writing is stronger, better and wretchedly copious thanks to this woman’s brain child.
Plus, some awesome people out there stumbled on me and gave me a job. That’s right – I am getting paid to write for this bitchin’ new online magazine and travel tool.
Which is, like, so fucking ironic, because I hate traveling.
Anyhoo, Eden set up a place where we can all get together and write write write ourselves silly during November. I created a group here, if you want to join me. I’m also a member here, if you prefer sunshine and apple juice.
I’m throwing down the gauntlet. Give me something to read during my season of hell. Drink the Kool-Aid, people. Join NaBloPoMo 2007.
Hey, and while I’m coercing you, why don’t you drop me a comment here, too? I can admit it, I am a total comment whore.
And I know there are a lot more of you out there. I can see you.
So de-lurk, already. Sweetney said so.![]()

Oh Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree… We’ve never had one and we won’t this year either!
Not a lurker, but hi anyway!
Best of luck on your quest to post every day!
I don’t think I count as a lurker but I do love me some chick and cheese. I’ll try to post to my journal daily.
I drank the koolaid, and I am also totally delurking. I do everything Mrs. Chicken tells me to do.
I’m having something of a “nerd meets world” experience at the moment with NaBloPoMo…
Kind of scary – having so many people visiting and reading my blog now – and NaBloPoMo hasn’t even really started yet!
yeah! delurkers unite and take over! woot!
I’m on board for NaBloPoMo again. It’s feast or famine around my place
As for the groups, I’ll join yours, but I’m too cranky to join the mommy bloggers one. I HATE the term “mommy blogger” (unless used with a sense of humor). It makes me twitch. If you are going to refer to me as “mommy,” you damn well better have sprung from my gaping uterus.
Ooh, you caught me! And I’m supposed to be packing!
November will find me post-move and hopefully with more free time, so maybe I will try the kool-aid. I still have several unfinished nanowrimo manuscripts (and by ‘unfinished’ I mean barely started) hanging around though.
I am no lurker, but hi you!
Wow! I can’t believe it’s that time again. It’s exactly when I started reading blogs… when I became addicted. I remember wondering what the buzz was all about… seeing NaBloPoMo everywhere. Wow.
Delurking! Delurking!
I’m a comment whore, too!
And I think I’ll be joining your group!
I lurk. Lurky lurky.
I don’t normally lurk…I just get here, like a week after everything is written. Look at me all on time today! I am intrigued by the whole NaBloPoMo thing, but I know I could never write daily.
How about if I just agree to come here and read everything a week late?
Delurking to say hello! Love your site!
I’m a pseudo lurker… just popping in to say HELLO! I love your site, too!
I’m intrigued by the NaBloPoMo. I am also prone to crankyness, mostly just for a few days of each month, though. I know, I know, so unique.
Perhaps I will join your Crank Brigade.
NaBloPoMo can be a great motivator
Okay, I’ll delurk, but just for a second and only because you asked nicely.
I found you last year, post NaBloPoMo, because our blogs were referenced in the same post about it on BlogHer (so help me if I can figure out how to link it). From you, I found Lotta and the MILF group, and the rest is history (at least, mine).
Love your writing, love your honesty, and I’ll make a point to comment (you know, since you asked nicely).
Karen
So glad you posted this! I really loved doing NaBloPoMo last year – hey, do you remember, is that how we met? Or did we meet before that? Anyhoo, I didn’t quite make it the full 30 days, so I need to redeem myself this go ’round.
Off to join!
I can’t even say “NaBloPoMo”. But if I think I have it in me, maybe I’ll give it a try . . .
Ok you convinced me! I’ll give it a try.
My Better Half is already sick of hearing about NaBloPoMo. I don’t think he’s ready for all the crank that will be unleashed, and not just by me, and you, and the other Cranky November Blogger-ers.
I did BOTH NaPoBloMo and NaNoWriMo last year and within a month got a job as a writer. Blogger, whatever.
Dreams CAN come true…
…and if you put a lot of creative energy into something, surely there are rewards to reap from them.
