That isn’t seriously J Crew?!

Karen November 19, 2007 at 8:40 am

oh, it’s hard to imagine wearing that in the outdoors isn’t? I’ve always like their clothes for their indoor/outdoor flexibility.

Bon November 19, 2007 at 8:41 am

ah yes, to be worn with one’s gold lamee chinos. and one’s velvet boating sneakers, tres chic.

preppy disco wear, the latest thang. what were they thinking?!?!

ali November 19, 2007 at 8:56 am

jcrew has been killing me slowly over the course of the last 2 years. killing me. raising prices. butchering styles. wtf?

amanda November 19, 2007 at 9:57 am

Hmm, and I shudder to think of the shoes they paired it with, $198 whatevers.

Lisa Milton November 19, 2007 at 11:12 am

I’m sure it’s super comfy too…

Their whole aesthetic has changed to the point of unrecognizablility.

I still have J Crew things from 10 years ago that look great, keep me warm, and can be made funky with good accessorizing.

What happened to their well-cut classic clothes? Stuff that was made really well out of quality materials?

Sigh.

Ew!

I actually kinda like it, and I love their shoes and coats — oooh, that bright yellow, but DAMN they are EXPENSIVE. And not pricy because they are so beautifully made. They are pricey because they have fairly successful lifestyle branding and if we want to be one of those happy prep school boy built blushing girls roaming the country side with our 17 year old McDreamies, well, the clothes just look even better. Stinkers.

Ok I am obviously the rogue tacky here, but I think that’s kind of cute…..

Even though it kind of looks like armour, I might actually wear that to a holiday party with a skirt and some knee high boots. I bet vomit cleans off of it really, really well.

LawyerMama November 19, 2007 at 2:35 pm

Hmmm. Not really my style, but I’ve seen a lot of that this year.

Kimberly November 19, 2007 at 3:42 pm

Did I miss something? Is Paula Abdul now working as a designer there? Seriously . . . WTH?

SaltyMissJill November 19, 2007 at 4:36 pm

It’s adorable and in a great color. Also, I’d never buy anything from them at full price, but their end-of-the-season sales are phenomenal…especially since people who usually shop there forgo the weirder items. This top for example!

OMG, I actually like that shirt! What is wrong with me? I can hear the ABBA now . . .

Queen of Shake Shake November 19, 2007 at 8:49 pm

I’d totally wear it to a holiday party.

sandy November 19, 2007 at 9:06 pm

Oh my.

It certainly is flashy, isn’t it?

Jonathan November 20, 2007 at 8:23 am

It is a disco ball ironing board cover, isn’t it.

the new girl November 24, 2007 at 6:55 pm
