Oh dear god. I’ve lived in North Dakota. 5 longest years of my life. The haircut won’t matter because it will be hidden under a thick hat for 10 months of the year.

Funny. I got butchered by a hairdresser 3 weeks ago, and now I look like I have hat hair all the time. I love your new do, though, and I am contemplating hacking all of mine off again and go back to short and sassy.
Finding a good stylist is HARD.

Delurking to say I go to Jenn at H2O also. She is a. hair. goddess. I have never been able to go to a stylist before and say “just do something” and have it look so good. She may be cuttin’ hair in the Midwest, but she won’t give you a Midwest haircut.

I just made my appointment to have my hair chopped for the first time in New England and now I am very very nervous…
North Dakota? Do they even bother to do hair there? Don’t they have to wear hats 10 months out of the year?

I’ve got the same problem here in Ogreville. What seems to work is to find a photo of a cut I like and tell the stylist do do exactly that. I tell her (it’s always been ‘her’ here) how much time I want to spend on doing my hair each moring, and I shriek if she dares bring out the little round brush or hairspray. I don’t leave until I’m happy.
I’m not difficult, I just know what I want and have no trouble expressing as much. Why pay for a cut you don’t like?
And what is it with the North Dakota?!?

Oh, I hear you. I have not even had my hair cut ONE SINGLE TIME since we moved here this summer because I fear the process of finding a good stylist. It so often takes finding a handful of BAD ones first….

As for North Dakota? Look at it this way — it will be so cold, you will be able to just grow your hair out super-long and use it as an extra layer of warmth. And no one will know, because it will be far too cold to go out in public. Problem solved!

I’m due for a cut.. now I don’t wanna go lol. My only option is either Fantastic Sams or drive an hour and a half. At FS I always end up with this racist redneck chick and I have to sit there and bite my tongue because I’m afraid if I piss her off I’ll end up bald.

I never found anyone in Alabama to do my hair and I fear what sort of “mommy ‘do” I could end up with here.

I just want to be cool, ya know.
