Well, I hesitate to say this but I think it’s cute. I mean, I know you don’t want the hair band anymore, but it doesn’t look bad at all. Having no bangs really softens your face in a pretty way – even with that mournful expression!
I think it looks cute, but I understand the annoying nature of having to wear your hair in a headband (and of getting a bad haircut while your pregnant and already feeling self-conscious).
My first suggestion is a straightening iron. They work wonders for separating layers and giving your hair a cute, piecey (is that a word?) look when you have a few minutes to put in the effort. I also recommend bumble and bumble’s grooming cream (http://www.salonsavings.com/detail/125260/) as a styling product–less than a dime-size amount does wonders on achieving the look I’m advocating.
My second suggestion is to find a stylist that really listens to you–Jamie and BJ & Co. in Champaign is amazing (with both color and cut). I just hacked off several inches and went for a cute bob with bangs that can be word across (a la your summer New York cut) or parted(at 7 1/2 mos. preggo that was a bold move move for me). I love it–and my husband who has delusions about me continuously sporting long styled super-model hair also loves it. Try Jamie, she’s great.
First of all, you look great. You are rocking a lovely orange tint (love that color) & you look fabulous. (I was Puff the magic dragon when I was pregnant.)
I like it. I do. I didn’t even think Fargo, not once.
But I know how it feels to be disappointed, so for that, I am sorry.
Lindsay is right, Jaime R. @ BJ and Company is great. I went to her for about 5 years. She did my wedding hair. I only stopped going to her because I am going to a salon closer to my house (Ruth’s).
I’m growing my short haircut out and am unfortunately rockin a good mullet right now, so I’ve got nothing on you. I think it’s totally cute. The Poo girl gets her lovely brown eyes from mama!
I’m not a hairband kinda girl, but it looks really good on you. I actually like this pic better than the one in the post below (and I don’t know if that was supposed to be a good one or not so sorry!)
I’m getting my hair all chopped in a few weeks… wish me luck! I have a stylist… sort of! She never does it quite how I want it, but at least she tries!
And I’ll try to remember to post before and after pictures!
Will you hate me if I say I think it’s adorable? Maybe “adorable” wasn’t what you were going for, but I think this cut makes you look younger and sweeter than the other cut, and I think it frames and flatters you more. There, I said it. You’re darling. Go head and hate me.
I think you look great! I like the way your hair flips at the ends. When my hair was that length, I prayed for flippy ends – but the way my hair grows only one side flips out. Hence, the short hair. The headband looks good, too.
Great photo… and I’m wondering if this is the first clear photo I’ve seen of you. I remember a post you wrote some time ago about “how you look” – and of course you were self deprecating.
I like it! ^_^ I think it looks good on you. Let it loose, let it fly free (aka discard the headband). I think it looks good, and hey, it’s YOUR hair. Who’s to decide what’s fashionable or not fashionable?
And if you really, really, REALLY hate it… you could always shave it all off and start again? I want to do that (we have this thing called CANSA – Cancer Association of South Africa, and they do drives where you pay R50, about $7-50, and they shave your head. Collected hair goes to make wigs for cancer patients, and the money funds research. It’s pretty cool. Do you guys have anything like that?
I like it, but I can see why you might be aggravated, sporter of a bob as I am. Because my hair is so fine I always have to use a hair dryer of some sort, but it behaves so much better since I started using a hot air brush– looks like a big metal hair brush and hot air blows up from a little motor in the base. Makes it much more even and non-sticky-uppy.
Wow, it’s not bad at all. I think you look great! But, I always hate it when my friends say stuff like that instead of empathizing with me, so: I’m sorry you don’t like your hair cut. I hope you can find a way to work with it that makes you happy.
I happen to looooove your hair AND the headband. Your face shape is perfect for no bangs!
And you know how crazy I get when my hair is a little “off,” -like the grabbing the scissors and hacking away at it myself kind of crazy- so to me, your cut is tres chic!

I think it looks lovely

I love short hair, and I think this is very cute. You look great!

Darling! No, really!
could we see it with no hairband? that would be a better test, maybe.
It’s hard to see in this picture. We’ll have to get lunch.
It’s really cute – would be even more so with a smile.
I like it. Of course we can’t see the bangs when they’re pulled back in the band, but it looks really cute that way.
I like the no bangs look and the ‘flips’ at the end
Aw, honey. It’s really not that bad. You will never see yourself as cute as others see you.
Having said that, I too have known the sting of a hated haircut. If my beloved hairdresser ever leaves me I will cry.

Hope you have a peaceful weekend.
It looks really nice. I think it highlights your eyes. The Poo has her mother’s lovely looks there. I, too, would like to see it without the headband.
Lindsay is right, Jaime R. @ BJ and Company is great. I went to her for about 5 years. She did my wedding hair. I only stopped going to her because I am going to a salon closer to my house (Ruth’s).
I think your hair is cute and it suits you!
maybe it’s just because I am a guy, but it looks good to me. Must be the hairband.
Love ya Cuz!
I’m growing my short haircut out and am unfortunately rockin a good mullet right now, so I’ve got nothing on you. I think it’s totally cute. The Poo girl gets her lovely brown eyes from mama!
I really don’t see anything bad about your hair. Not a single strand. Even with the obligatory headband (mine is in the obligatory ponytail!!).
I love your widow’s peak. I’ve always wanted one of those.
pretty girl, you.

I think it’s sassy!
I think your hair is lovely, very young looking.
My stylist was just dying to give me this exact same “Katie Holmes Haircut” last week.
I’m sporting the same ‘do right now.
I havent figured out the quick and easy way to style it yet though.

I think you are adorable, and seriously? Your expression here just about made me pee my pants
You want to see some bad hair? I will have to post a picture of my hair! You look good for having a “bad hair cut” honestly you do!
I can see where the Poo gets her gorgeousnessocity from. You look great!
I can’t tell from a pic. Will have to see you in person
.

You needn’t have been
Your little girl is so much like you it’s spooky…

I think it’s cute. You could always drive up to Chicago for the day and I could show you a good salon or two. For the right price, of course.
You are cute. Fierce, but cute.
And don’t worry, North Dakota isn’t that awful. Well, it’s not that great either, but you can make your own fun.
Oh, wait. You already did that. Pregnant. Got it.
So, where in? If it’s Fargo or Grand Forks, I wouldn’t worry too much.
If it’s Williston or Minot? Argue against.
And remember, you can always drive to Minneapolis.
I think you look awesome.
I really like it! And hey, you’ve had worse, right? If you don’t like it, you can always wear a hat.
I like it! Really?! What’s wrong with it??
I happen to looooove your hair AND the headband. Your face shape is perfect for no bangs!

I love it! I’m wondering if I could like my hair in a style like that. I’ve had bangs all of my life…. and I’m so tempted to try to go without them.
Look at you doll face! You look fabulous. I love the hair.
Now show me yer belly.
I actually like it. I’m jealous of those who can sport short hair and still look adorable. (Like you)
