What fun! Oh, your daughter is going to have such fun with him! I spent about his first three years dressing up my brother as a princess/fairy/baby/bunny. He turned out fine and macho, and I bet a baby sister would not have been so much fun. I think baby sisters are much more opinionated about fasion, and less easy to totally dominate. Or maybe it was just us? Alas, I cannot dominate him anymore, as he is 6 foot 4. I do have sons, though! AND a nephew!
Congrats to you and your family!! The Poo and Shaggy are going to have so much fun together!! I promise you! My daughter has so much fun with her brothers!!
Aw, congratulations!!! I remember the ultrasound when we found out Smooch was a boy – Gruff just looked at me solidly and said, “Told you so.” *snort!*
I love the name Henry (not that you asked) and as a big sister-to-a-little-brother, just about the same age difference as yours will be, I think it’s a great combination. My brother and I had rocky years as kids, but we are now SO close. We talk a few times a week, and he’s coming up here for a visit with his fiancee this weekend.
Just, seriously? Watch out for the baby pee fountain. Smooch once got Gruff RIGHT IN THE EYE. Gross.
I know the feeling of accepting anything different to what you hoped/imagined etc.
We really wanted a boy for our second and when we found out it was girl number 2 there was the briefest period of loss… a little grief for the boy I really thought it was and then just joy for the baby on it’s way…
It’s such a strange thing… I know you’ll be a fab mother to your little boy.

A boy! Someday, I hope to add one to my nest. Congratulations! (And I love ‘Henry’ as a name…even if it was just a blog post title.)
