Green Day

by Mrs. Chicken on June 24, 2008

We settled on a color, and Mr. C and our dear friend Al (hi, Al!) painted Shaggy’s room on Saturday.

They worked their asses off, and the result is …

… perfection.

I scored a great deal on the bedding – reduced price on a brand-new, in-the-package set – from eBay, and we set up the crib.

The Poo’s crib was a white spindle deal-y from Pottery Barn Kids, and I was so bummed that I was going to have to look at that white crib with maple furniture for years and years.

Then my mom suggested we take the crib she had at her house, a maple one.

It looks AWESOME.

I love the color and I love the fresh feeling of the dots. Now we wait for the rest of the furniture. The glider is already in, we’re only waiting on the dresser/changing table combo.

So … what do you think? Fit for a Shaggy Boy?

Wowie! Very pizzazi (pizzaz-ey?).

followthatdog June 24, 2008 at 5:22 pm

That looks fantastic! What a lovely nursery. I’d live there in a heartbeat. You know green is the color most often associated with genius. Did I mention it is also my favorite color?

Rachael June 24, 2008 at 5:47 pm

It is GORGEOUS! Dude, if I was shorter, I would totally sleep in that room. Love it.

Cassie June 24, 2008 at 5:58 pm

I love that color! It makes the walls really POP!

slouching mom June 24, 2008 at 6:07 pm

pgoodness June 24, 2008 at 6:23 pm

I absolutely love it.

Lauren June 24, 2008 at 6:34 pm

OMG sooo perfect. I want that room in my house when I have a baby.

tng June 24, 2008 at 6:45 pm

So crisp and clean.

I love the dots and that little blue table? I want to knock it over, it’s so cute.

amanda June 24, 2008 at 7:19 pm

I love it. We have a mossy green in Fin’s room. Sure you don’t want me to send you a caddy as a gift? Maybe I’ll let you get one and I’ll send you a second just to be extravagant.

Hope you are smiling mama!

Wonderful color! I love it. And the bedding and crib look fabulous, too! Nicely done.

catnip June 24, 2008 at 7:38 pm

It’s beautiful! I love the colors and I love the polka dots! So much better than the usual bunnies and bears. Good work.

Auds at Barking Mad June 24, 2008 at 7:42 pm

I love it! That green is amazing!

Gorgeous stuff mama, Shaggy is one lucky little boy!

Suze June 24, 2008 at 7:48 pm

A brave colour, but damn it works – especially for a boy. Well done!

canape June 24, 2008 at 8:05 pm

I think it looks great. Good work!

Nicole June 24, 2008 at 8:05 pm

That looks lovely! You should paint a few large dots here and there on the walls – to coordinate with your awesome bedding.

mayberry June 24, 2008 at 8:16 pm

I like it! And it coordinates with the blog too!

Jason June 24, 2008 at 8:45 pm

I think that green must be the new color. Since we were going to be doing some re-decorating for our new baby, our girl requested we repaint her room in a light green.

Lisa Milton June 24, 2008 at 8:59 pm

That green is great; perfect for a shaggy boy.

(Love those dots.)

LifeAsIKnowIt June 24, 2008 at 9:07 pm

Love it! I love green for a baby’s room – very soothing!

jess June 24, 2008 at 9:11 pm

Oooh, what an awesome color. I love it! I think Shaggy will like it.

sus June 24, 2008 at 9:25 pm

Aw. It’s enough to make one want another baby. (Wait a sec! I have a baby! In a green nursery! I have to stop wanting babies when I already have babies.)

Hetha June 24, 2008 at 9:34 pm

That looks awesome Mrs. C, and the dots on the bedding look adorable next to the green. Nice and gender neutral :-)

jen June 24, 2008 at 10:34 pm

i LOVE it. it’s pure money, woman.

flutter June 24, 2008 at 11:18 pm

I am so freakin in love with that

apathy lounge June 24, 2008 at 11:40 pm

Like you said…awesome.

Yvie June 25, 2008 at 1:13 am

WOW! It’s perfect! I love green too. Great job Mommy and also the ones who painted the wall. :D

Amy Jo June 25, 2008 at 7:25 am

I love it! The color is just perfect. And I’m a big fan of dots myself. Lucy’s bedding is a similar pattern, with a slightly more girlish slant!

What a lovely welcome for Shaggy!

mamatulip June 25, 2008 at 7:42 am

I LOVE IT!

Kirsten June 25, 2008 at 8:27 am

That is GORGEOUS!!! Wow, Shaggy’s going to have some good memories of this room. ^___^

What does the Poo think? She think it good for her baby bro?

Ailis June 25, 2008 at 8:28 am

Wow. It looks great. Also could work for those who don’t find out the baby’s gender…thanks for the design ideas.

Rayne of Terror June 25, 2008 at 9:11 am

I don’t think it’s a coincidence the paint matches your blog header. Must be a color that speaks to you.

I think it looks great, especially considering the sunny yellow in the main rooms.

Steph June 25, 2008 at 9:33 am

I love the color of the room!!!!

Christina June 25, 2008 at 9:40 am

I like the green a lot. Especially because it doesn’t scream “nursery” so you’ll be able to transition to an older kid’s room without totally repainting.

Kaza June 25, 2008 at 7:25 pm

No kidding perfection! It’s nothing short of completely gorgeous. What a relief to have it really in the works, huh?

amanda June 25, 2008 at 9:10 pm

love, love, love it.

simply perfect.

Beth June 25, 2008 at 10:14 pm

Looks great! We have the same crib.

Kari June 26, 2008 at 8:56 am

I’m going to de-lurk and say – AWESOMME color choice!

nomotherearth June 26, 2008 at 2:12 pm

It’s perfect! Is that not the actual colour of Shaggy’s shirt from Scooby Doo?

Absolute perfection.

kristi June 26, 2008 at 4:20 pm

Great job!! I will pray these weeks go by quickly for you!

justmylife June 27, 2008 at 2:04 pm

Love it! Perfect color for a “Shaggy”!

Carrie June 27, 2008 at 2:39 pm

Oh, it is absolutely perfect! There is something about a crib, all done up with the bedding and such, that says “we’re ready baby!”

Can’t hardly wait . . .
