I am up against a wall this week. I have about 100 deadlines to meet by Friday, to the tune of more than 5,000 words, y’all.
Them’s alotta words.
My house is filthy. Case in point: yesterday, I got home from writing at 2:30 p.m. At 5:30, in the midst of dinner prep, I discovered the toilet was most wretchedly clogged.
With feces.
I had to hand-bail the water out so I could plunge, and still it didn’t work. Mr. C finally got it cleared, but in the meantime my powder room was covered in feces-water.
Yum. Hope yer not eating or anything.
So, yeah. I just cleaned the bathroom. You know it’s bad when you need a shower after cleaning the toilet. The kids are sick, my knees are killing me, Mr. C is swamped at work and we’re a big fat fucking mess ’round here.
And lather, rinse, repeat.
It’s time to play beat the clock. I know you know what I mean. So while I’m away (it is AMAZING how much actual work I get done when I close Ye Olde Laptoppe), can you do me a solid?
I need writing prompts. This blog is starting to feel like the demented ramblings of a McLean Hospital resident. Can you oblige by leaving me something sweet in the comments? Like a question, or something you think I should write about?
I’m outtie, my peeps. Back soon.

I have loads of things I want to ask you!
Who had a strong influence on you? Who made you feel like a writer compared to someone who didn’t make you feel like a writer?
When you look back – did you really know less than you do now? Write something that begins and ends with the words ‘When I was younger.’
If you could meet yourself on the street and *you* knew it was you but the other you didn’t know it was you (does that make sense?) How would you greet yourself? What would happen between you in conversation? You could write about your other you, your other ego, your clone, or the worst side of you as if it was someone that you bumped into….?
Just a few ideas – but I love your writing – a short story to escape into would be great
mrsbn’s last blog post..The One with the Pasta Sleeves!
I remember reading things like this on a site once somewhere and I got some good ideas from it – if I only could remember the site!!! lol (and try not to press submit before I finish writing my comment!)

Why don’t you write about how you envision you and your family’s life one year from now?
(sorry about the feces water)

Errrgh, sorry about the mess! My mother has an incontinence problem, so I kinda know how you feel. It’s not pleasant.
As for writing prompts… for some reason I flashed back to lyrics I read… Julie Andrews, on her 60th birthday, sang about her “favourite things” (as in “The Sound of Music”), upgraded for the senior citizen… maybe you could do something like that about being a stay-at-home-yet-working mom? XD
Also… on LiveJournal, they have a section called “writer’s block”. Don’t know if you have to be a member, but here’s a few from there just in case. ^_^
“What is the most annoying sound in the entire world?”
“Would you ever go on a silent retreat? How long do you think you could go without talking?”
“What’s the best conversation you’ve ever had with a stranger—on a bus, in an elevator, at a cafe, etc.?”
“Who has it easier—men or women? Why or why not?”
“What song would you choose as the theme song for your life?”
“What reality show would you most want to be a contestant on? What would your strategy for winning be?”
I’d find you some more, but have to go find my mom’s ID book… I suppose looking for it the night before we have to go vote in the biggest election’s this country has ever seen was not a good plan…? Anyways…
Good luck with getting everything sorted on your end, OK? *HUGS*
Kirsten’s last blog post..I wonder if the Universe would mind terribly if I turned my boss into a gerbil…
If a fat book contract dropped in your lap, what would you want to write? A memoir, a children’s book, some hard-hitting investigative journalism, an acerbic murder mystery?

Clogged toilets. UGH.
Hmm, a question…..you take a lot of photos and they are very nice. Have you always taken photos or did you start when the Poo was born and you wanted to document her life.
Do you have any other hobbies?

What do you think your immune system issues are teaching you in a positive way? What are you learning about yourself as you try to manage them?
Are there things that you’re learning about your physical health and your creative, inner life that you will be able to share with your children when they’re older? What do they see you “moving through” and how will that inform their senses of what’s possible in their own lives?
What do you need to feel soothed?
cathy’s last blog post..big questions late at night
What is the first memory you have? What do you think your children’s will by and why?
For example, mine is of hiding under the kitchen sink because I’d done something bad and was hiding “from God”. I think I remember it only because my parents repeated the story so often…

Well, how about mothers / parents who have a chronic illness? I’m living it and, frankly, it seems like my ass is getting kicked and good. With my first pregnancy, I got a nice bounce from having the immune system blessedly suppressed (without oral steroids – woo hoo!); no such luck this time around. Holy —-! What am I going to do when I have a toddler and a newborn?! Aieee! Oops. Sorry. Didn’t mean to treat your comments like the crisis hotline. But that’s one idea of something I’d like to read about, especially if the article was written by you.
nothing like shit water to get the creative juices flowing…
so, when did you know that you were meant to write?

Hi Mrs. Chicken. How about writing about your childhood, where you grew up, friends you had and places that you may have traveled?
Oh, I can do you one – no 6 better on the clogged toilets. Just imagine the boys shower house at summer camp with 6 over flowing toilets. yuck.
As for writing ideas:
How about looking at the difference in how today’s parents spend their time and money and ask why parents make the choices they do.
Designer clothes for babies?
Expensive electronics for children?
Cell phones – what 8 year old needs to be connected to her friends 24/7?
The decline in the value of neighborhoods and communities for kids. What happened to trust?
Ugh. Feces water floods are a terrible homecoming. Here’s a red velvet cupcake and a large glass of wine. Consume at once.
I always enjoy hearing about your reporting days. And I still laugh over the time the garbage guys left you that “gift”. Tell me more about some of the other odd ducks you’ve run across.

At least you’re finding time to scribbing *something* in your blog.
Okay – a prompt… who do you most regret losing touch with? Who do you wish you could find again? What are your memories of them ?
Maybe just a bit insensitive to actually link to a psychiatric hospital? Seems so to me.
hi there, your internet site is excellent. Although i many thanks for succeed
