White Lies

by Mrs. Chicken on June 11, 2009

belly laugh

The Poo: Mommy, how do doggies have puppies?

Mommy: Ummmm …

The Poo: Do they grow them in their bellies?

Mommy: Yes! Yes, they do, just like humans.

The Poo: But how do they get them out?

Mommy: *blink blink*

The Poo: Oh! I know. They spit them out!

Mommy: Yes! Yes, they do.

I think she’s right. Peristalsis works in mysterious ways … No reason to think you were visiting Fibber Island. Nope.

Well reasoned and prepared answer! We may as well just accept now that we will never be ready for those questions and no matter what we “plan” to say, there is no telling what will fall out of our mouths when the dreaded questions come flying at us when we least expect it!

I don’t think there’s a white lie there. Nope. Spit them out is rather accurate if you ask me. LOL

Haha! Awe too cute. My Mother was a nurse and gave me an age appropriate book about the birds and the bees when I was four. I also grew up with alot of livestock around and saw the making of puppies and such.

It’s good to read your blog again. My computer crashed…>_<

Sam has been asking a lot of questions about the baby in my belly. All of them except how the baby is going to get out. I’m still trying to plan my response.

That photo is amazing.

Oh I hope that works for you! Jack Jack already told me that I “pooped” him out when he was born. WAW!

When my children ask me a question I’m not prepared to answer, I always say, “Hmm… that’s an interesting question. What do YOU think the answer is?” Right now, my twins are having their toy horses and dogs lay eggs. Guess I need to step it up a notch.

That photo needs poster sized enlargement and a frame!

LOVE that photo. Priceless. Beautiful.

I think I should have taken your lead. I made the mistake of telling Zoe (age 3) that her baby sister would be born “through the birth canal” which I later admitted would include coming out my vagina. That bit of anatomical information has now been shared with many friends and several strangers. Often at high volume.
