I had a whole big post in mind, one that touches on some of the Big And Serious Issues that are going around in the newest, bloody battle on the front lines of The Mommy Wars.
Then this happened:
So you’ll have to excuse me. I am at once ridiculously proud and ridiculously horrified. This was taken around 1 p.m. By 6 p.m., he was RUNNING.
No wonder I have a headache.

WHAT! He’s not even 1 yet. Way to go, Babyman!
Oh dear. My condolances.
Oh, you’re in for so much, um, fun! (Running 5 hours later? I’d probably have fainted.)
Dude, I was going to weep from the sweet if he walked for your kisses. Blueberries are nothing to scoff at. Atta boy!
that’s how you know he’s not a first child.
I adore this video. I am so proud of him. And so dang happy for you.
And dang it, I am not ready for that.
Awe so cute! Sorry you will have to chase like crazy now!
Good for him! Looks like it might be time for a new nickname?
Holy crap. I’m scared.
High Five to you, Babyman!
…and a sedative for your nerves Mrs. Chicken
Love love LOVE that momma kisses did nothing to persuade him, but blueberries are like magic. Fickle children.
What a wonderful thing! Here’s to hoping everything is Babyman proofed
!
how old is he now? go, babyman!
Yeah for Babyman and not so yeah for mommy! Once they start they never slow down
When Henry was 11 months old we were debating whether walking 3-5 steps was really walking or not. My parents thought it was, Bob and I thought it wasn’t. Henry showed me the very next day by walking the entire length of the living room, probably 15 feet. He was running within 24 hours and has never stopped. Remember how he ran/walked all those miles at Allerton? You are going to have one of those, I predict.
Godspeed, Mama.
I’m with you — both of my kids walked at 10 1/2 months. It’s simultaneously amazing and terrifying. Good luck!!
Wow!! A friend told me that walking wasn’t that much different from crawling, but their knees didn’t get as dirty. I have to beg to differ; when they walk, they can reach everything!
Way to go Babyman. The world is at your grasp. Take it.
i love the look on his face when you said blueberry!
bluuuuueberry??? yes i believe i WILL have a bluuuuuueberry…
Get your running shoes on girl! What a sweet moment.
Awwwwwwwwwwwww! A toddler!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ruby,at one year and two weeks, hasn’t even taken the plunge. Ella walked at nine months and spent the next six months with a goose egg on her forehead. The Babyman looks very steady on his feet.
Congratulations mama.
I can’t believe it. I said slow down BabyMan…Not speed up!!
LOL, too cute! xoxo
That’s great, he just decided he was ready for that, huh? The little guy made up his own mind about that without consulting anybody. That’s how boys are. They just do things out of the blue.
I love that you bribed him with a blueberry. That would have been my boys, too.
he’s fabulous. and my girl is hot on his heels. and i am quaking.
blueberries rock. So does walking. Congratulations babyman.
ah ha! It’s on now!
Milestones indeed! Go, baby man!
Wow!! I mean WOW!!!
