On our last day on The Cape, I finally got some time to shoot in Provincetown, at the very eastern edge of the peninsula. As my sister says, you can’t miss P-Town–if you keep going, you’ll fall into the ocean.
Provincetown has a rep as the San Francisco of the East, with a very large gay and lesbian community. Its funkitude suited my mood:

This guy is telling the kids they look “fancy,” which is the true definition of a pot calling a kettle black.
The Poo was sad to leave. The girl is going to remember this summer with her cousins as one of the best of her life:
And it was The Babyman’s first taste of the ocean. He went back again and again for more, screeching with delight when the stinging cold hit his toes.
Next year everything will be different. We’ll all be older, and, I hope in my case, wiser. In the meantime, I’ll print these photographs. I’ll hold them in my hands come winter time, and dream about the hot sand while the cold Illinois wind blows in my eaves.

Great pictures! Have a safe and uneventful drive home.
Wonderful pictures.
This is probably either going to sound very strange, or completely obvious – the photos remind me of Amity – the fictional coastal town in Jaws.
I love P town! Sounds like you had a great vacation. Until next year…!
Beautiful pictures. Have a safe trip home.
awesome pics.
beautiful.
I love Provincetown, and the Cape in general. We spend weekends in Marion which is sort of in the armpit of the Cape. I love that whole part of the world! All of your posts from your vacation have been so evocative and lovely – thank you, thank you.

It sounds like you had a restorative vacation. Excellent, all around.
This is SO COOL. So beautiful. I know exactly what you mean about the things you’ll clutch close come winter. I’m so glad you had such a good time.
This is a funny humor blog that you have here. I have one myself and I would like to exchange links with you. Let me know what you think.
Sincerely,
Jason
Love the photos! My faves are the light one and the last one.
Glad to have you back among us. Almost!
Great shots. I miss the Cape so much. It’s been way too long. Maybe next summer we’ll plan a trip there.
I have never been to Cape Cod! It looks lovely!
I love Provincetown, and I miss living close to the Cape. What a wonderful place to be in the summer (or anytime)…
